Update 3/23/2020:

Dear ALFA Business Partners,

I’m writing today to communicate an update to my letter to you on 3/13 (below). So much has happened in our world these past 10 days. Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

First, Rest Assured: ALFA IS OPEN and SHIPPING ORDERS WITHOUT DELAY! We will continue to serve you without interruption through the COVID-19 outbreak. As of today we are not experiencing any non-routine product outages or supply chain disruptions.

As you may know, on March 20th New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued New York Executive Order 202.8 (“order”) requiring all “Non-Essential” entities to reduce in-person workforce by 100%, effective March 22, 2020 at 8pm EST, but encouraging “essential businesses, or entities providing essential services or functions” to continue to operate.

In delivering this letter, I wish to communicate that ALFA, as a provider of food processing equipment and components required to maintain the safe and essential operation of Food & Beverage Producers, Supermarkets, Restaurants, and Hotels (“Essential Businesses” ), is an Essential Business as defined by the Order. As such, ALFA “shall not be subjected to the in-person work restriction, but may operate at the level necessary to provide such service or function.”

Our first priority is the safety our ALFA Extended Family, whether they be ALFA employees, customers, or suppliers.That stated we are doing are part to adhere to social distancing standards, as all employees who are able to complete their responsibilities virtually have been encouraged to do so. With an eye on business continuity,  ALFA has continued to make flexible infrastructure investments that ensure our ability to operate and serve you under a variety of external crises .  To protect those employees who cannot complete their work virtually, we have implemented enhanced cleaning  and other work practices according to the latest guidelines issued by the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

We will continue to monitor and adhere to the guidelines provided to us by the CDC, and local health officials to ensure a safe environment for all. We will continue to provide updates, as necessary via our website https://www.alfaco.com and future emails.

From our family to yours, we wish you health and safety in this difficult time. Thank you for your continued support of ALFA.

Be Safe and Be Well,

Brad

Dear ALFA Customers & Suppliers,

As a valued member of the ALFA family, I want to thank you for the trust you’ve placed in us and our team the last 82 years.

 Rest assured that, in facing the COVID-19 outbreak, ALFA has made all the preparations necessary to provide the uninterrupted service you’ve expected from us since 1938. Our staff is working hard to operate at full capacity, though you may experience delivery delays for a variety of reasons.

As we are all aware, COVID-19 (“coronavirus”) is impacting people across the world, with confirmed cases reported in most states in the US. Our hearts go out to those who are impacted by this terrible virus.Our first priority is to ensure the health and safety of every member of the ALFA family: our employees, suppliers, and you, our customers. With that goal in mind I want to share with you some of the steps we’ve taken at ALFA in activating our Disaster Preparedness Plan:

First and foremost, we’ve continuously monitored developments and adopted the recommendations provided by the Center for Disease Control & Prevention and other public health experts, including:

1.   Enhancing the frequency of our existing cleaning and disinfecting routines at ALFA;

2.   Suspending ALL business travel including: customer & supplier visits, and trade shows;

3.   Suspending ALL non-employee access to ALFA’s headquarters, EXCEPT freight pick ups;

4.   Isolating inbound freight for a 1 week holding period prior to stocking;&

5.  Working with ALFA’ s supply chain partners to ensure uninterrupted product supplies; &

6.  Increasing ALFA’s  work from home employee population.

We will continue to communicate updates as the situation develops. As always, thank you for your business and for your continued support of ALFA.
